This newly released book shows how radical Islam is using everthing at its disposal, including Arab children and the news media, to wage a war of terror on Israel and the world. The author delves into biblical prophecy to show that Israel has a future in God’s plan and will eventually inherit the land for all time. Readers will be provided with a factual history of the area, showing that the long-time presence of the West Bank has been Jewish, not Palestinian. A paperback containing 294 pages.

Paperback with 296 pages. 24 portraits of Christ throughout Scripture. Jesus is Lord has been traditionally understood as one of the oldest and most basic Christian statements of faith. Unlike many other terns given to Jesus (i.e., Son of God), however, the tern Lord is relatively common and its meaning is sometimes lost on the modern reader. What does lordship involve? What does it mean for us? Why does the Bible so frequently use the title for Jesus? This book shows readers how we are never fram from encountering the lordship of Christ in Scripture.

Hundreds of pearls of wisdom are harvested from the 46 books written by Lee Roberson in this hardcover. The practical, down-to-earth counsel of this giant of the faith is easily understood and applied to our daily lives.
New Evangelicalism was born with the formation of the National Association of Evangelicals in 1942. This new group was in the main led by younger professing fundamentalist scholars and leaders who had become dissatisfied with their heritage and wanted to establish an evangelical middle ground between fundamentalism and neo-orthodoxy. This book is an analysis of the break-away movement in terms of the issues, ideas, and practices that led to its beginning, its expansion to an apogee in the 1970s, its subsequent loss of biblical and doctrinal stability, and its slide toward virtual irrelevancy in a postmodern world culture of the 21st century.
The twenty-five chapters are grouped under nine main sections:
Historical Antecedents
The Formation of the New Evangelicalism
Ecumenism
Ecclesiastical Separation
The Bible and Authority
Apologetics
Social Involvement
Doctrinal Storms
Evaluations and Prospects

Divisions which are deep and wide exist both within and between nations. The greatest of these is probably that between rich and poor because it translates into the gulf between the powerful and the oppressed, the educated and the illeterate, the well-fed and well-housed and the starving of the world’s shanty towns. It creates a happiness on the one hand and a misery on the other. However, there is a division which goes deeper and runs further even than this. It results from the way in which people of all ages and places relate to the Word and Kingdom of God. In terms of it, the rich may be poor and the poor, rich and while gospel riches may not obliterate the wretchedness of life below, they will not result in endless woe in the world beyond but eternal bliss. Are you really rich? Or are you really poor?

These thirteen sermons on Psalm 42:11, preached at Stepney, London, in the year 1648 are the work of a true physician of souls. In dealing with believers suffering from spiritual depression, Bridge manifests great insight into the causes of the saints’ discouragements such as great sins, weak grace, failure in duties, want of assurance, temptation, desertion and affliction. A correct diagnosis is more than half the cure but Bridge does not leave his readers there. He gives directions for applying the remedy. For example in dealing with ’’great sins’’ he says, ’’If you would be truly humbled and not be discouraged: not be discouraged and yet humbled; then beat and drive up all you sin to your unbelief, and lay the stress and weight of all your sorrow upon that sin.’’ The general causes of spiritual depression are the same in every age. Downcast Christians of the 21st Century can find help here as surely as did past generations.

Understanding the New Testament is a daunting but exciting task. Our world is so different from that of the first century. The dress, travel, vocation, and custom of biblical characters are all foreign to us. Yet it is important to understand the context and content of the New Testament if we are to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
A Popular Survey of the New Testament is designed to help ordinary people enrich their understanding of New Testament people and events. It addresses many questions that readers of the Bible may have, such as:
Who wrote the books of the New Testament and to whom were they writing?
When were these books written and why?
How can a warning about first-century Gnostics help Christians today?
What can today’s believers get out of a letter about a slave returning to his master?
How can we tell if what is written in the New Testament is true history or just mythology?
Illustrated throughout with color photos, charts, and maps, and written in an easy, informal style, this survey is accessible and enjoyable to anyone who wants to better understand the New Testament.

The world of the Old Testament can seem hard to understand, especially for people living in times and places so far removed from the ancient Middle East. It’s not just that we wear different clothes and hold different jobs--people in the West just don’t have the same history, the same culture, or the same way of thinking as Old Testament characters like Abraham and David. And this disconnect can make studying the Old Testament an arduous and confusing process. A Popular Survey of the Old Testament is designed to help ordinary people enrich their understanding of Old Testament people and events.
Well-illustrated with color photos, charts, and maps, and written in an easy, informal style, this survey discusses the themes of the various groups of Old Testament books. Here is a solid, evangelical, and uniquely Christ-centered survey.

When the spiritual history of the Western World in the 20th Century is written, it may well be seen as the epoch of spiritual sloth and slumber. Eternal realities seemed vaguely-difined and far-removed from daily life, and conformity to the world took the form of carelessness and neglect of spiritual issues. That is why it is no anachronism to republish a book from a day when men were more deeply conscious of the world to come, written by a servant of God whose preaching and writing were used to alarm and awaken many to the concerns of life and death.

Thomas Watson, the 17th Century Minister of St. Stephen’s Walbrook, believed he faced two great difficulties in his pastoral ministry. The first was making the unbeliever sad, in the recognition of his need of God’s grace. The second was making the believer joyful in response to God’s grace. He believed the answer to the second difficulty could be found in Paul’s teaching in Romans 8:28 - God works all things together for good for his people.

Twelve books constitute what we commonly call the Old Testament Historical Books. Their combined stories portray the tempestuous and often incredible events that compose the history of Israel as a nation.
In Joshua, Judges and Ruth we witness the conquest of Cannan and the chaotic movement toward a monarchy. The books of Samuel record the establishment of the Davidic dynasty. The books of Kings and Chronicles depict the rise and fall of kingly lines and kingdoms. Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther portray life in exile and the return of a remnant to Jerusalem. All end on incomplete notes, pointing ahead to God’s future activity in the lives of His people--activity that did not reach its climax until the arrival of Jesus the Messiah.

Much of the Bible is a history of God’s dealings with His people Israel. The events it records took place in a specific geographical environment that involved many people and places. So to more clearly understand the Bible, it’s helpful to visualize how Israel interacted with her neighbors and was affected by geography.

Can the Bible really be understood?
Are Old Testament prophecies relevant for today?
How can I understand the symbolism of the Book of Revelation?
What is the relationship of the Old Testament to the New Testament?
Why study Bible interpretation? Dr. Roy Zuck points out that it is essential for understanding and teaching the Bible properly, essential as a step beyond observation, and essential for applying the Bible correctly.
He discusses the challenges of Bible interpretation, considers the problems of Bible interpretation, explores the history of Bible interpretation, and defines key terms--all in a practical, down-to-earth way.
Though Dr. Zuck’s many years of teaching and scholarship are evident in this book, he has written in language understandable to all who are serious about bible study and who want to know better what Scripture means.
Basic Bible Interpretation lives up to its title. It deals with the basics and doesn’t confuse the reader with extraneous material. It focuses on the bible as the Word of God and handles that Word with ’’reverence and godly fear.’’ It tells us how to interpret this marvelous Book, and even gives the reader opportunity to put the principles into practice. In every way, this book is a practical tool for the serious student who wants to study the Bible and apply its truths.
Warren W. Wiersbe
Author, Conference Speaker
Having taught and written in the area of hermeneutics for almost thirty years, I am convinced that there is no more important course in the seminary curriculum for training in the scriptures. As Roy Zuck has so ably demonstrated, we cannot know the message of the bible for today until we know its meaning.
Dr. Zuck’s work is intensely biblical and comprehensive but at the same time it is simple and uncomplicated. This is a book we have needed for many years and I praise the Lord that it is now available.

Real people. Real messages.
A good biographical example can captivate listeners and impart a strong message. But many times these effective examples are hard to find, requiring in-depth research and more time than a busy pastor or teacher can spare.
Internationally known writer and former pastor Warren W. Wiersbe offers a valuable resource for effective sermon and lecture preparation. Opening up the lives of Bible heroes and heroines, from the well-known names such as Abraham and Jeremiah to the lesser-known Demas and Zedekiah, Wiersbe presents a wealth of helpful information in an encyclopedic format that’s easy to read and easy to implement. Each entry includes a description of the context in which that person lived as well as how they related to others and to God. Quotes from respected Bible scholars demonstrate how these biographies have captivated audiences around the world.
Exploring Bible biographies is a perennial teaching technique because, through the lives of biblical characters, listeners and students can experience life change through their example. With Bible Personalities as your guide, you will discover how to deliver a message that will resonate to the core of each listener.

Haddon Robinson’s Biblical Preaching has become a modern classic on the preparation and delivery of expository sermons. Much has changed, however, in twenty years and Robinson has undertaken the task of updating his work to benefit a new generation of preachers who will speak to a markedly different world.
While retaining the original outline of the book and Robinson’s ten-stage process of sermon development, this new edition offers significant improvements. Many of the illustrations and arguments have been updated, the prose has been changed to gender-inclusive language, each chapter is enhanced with suggestions for further study, and the discussions of narrative and inductive preaching have been expanded.

Are you a wise and faithful steward?
Do you know what stewardship encompasses? Does it deal only with your personal possessions? Are you aware that biblical stewardship includes much more than money issues?
Biblical stewardship is a whole-life responsibility. Alfred Martin begins his book by presenting creation as the basis of God’s owership. He goes on to show that stewardship is a lifestyle involving the effective use of body, mind, time, speech, and action as well as money.
This book will challenge your thinking. It will help you see that stewardship is not an option for the believer but a responsibility. And it will guide you in setting priorities that will help you become a good steward of the manifold grace of God.

Pastor John Piper says, “We pastors are being killed by the professionalizing of the pastoral ministry. . . professionalism has nothing to do with the essence and heart of the Christian ministry. The more professional we long to be, the more spiritual death we will leave in our wake. For there is no professional childlikeness, there is no professional tenderheartedness. There is no professional panting after God.”
In Brothers, We are Not Professionals Piper pleas with his colleagues to abandon the secularization of the pastorate and return to the primitive call of the Bible for radical ministry.

David described the angels present when God spoke His law at Mount Sinai as ’the chariots of God’ (Psalm 68:17). His fine symbolism reminds us of the awesome majesty of God at the giving of the law. However, the angels were merely the symbols of the majestic glory of God while His law itself was the essential revelation of it. Thus, the Ten Commandments, even more than the angels at Sinai, may be called God’s chariots of fire.
The voice of God at Sinai must forever be a voice of condemnation unless God had something more to say. He had, and He said it at Calvary. Out of the darkness of the cross the Lord Jesus Christ cried with a loud voice, ‘It is finished’ (John 19:30). Here is the voice of salvation from Him who perfectly fulfilled the law. Though no angels were present at Calvary when the Lord Jesus Christ died as a sacrifice to put away God’s wrath and our sin, the chariots of God were there. His majesty was never more clearly revealed and His law was never more strictly in force than at the cross. We may say that God rode down from glory to Mount Sinai in chariots of fire to state His law, closing heaven against us as law-breakers, but Christ our Saviour rode up to glory from Mount Calvary in those same chariots of God, opening heaven for us by His perfect satisfaction of the law.
The Chariots of God: the Law in relation to the Cross and the Christian is a careful, consistent, and eminently Christ-centred examination of the relation of the law to the gospel and to believers. It avoids the extremes of legalism and lawlessness. These studies have been greatly used through thousands of tape copies of the original messages preached. In print, they offer Christians a scriptural and readable guide to the vitally important subject of God’s law.

Egalitarians, or evangelical feminists, consider men’s and women’s roles in the home and church to be interchangeable. In this helpful book, Bible scholar Wayne Grudem considers over a hundred egalitarian arguments and finds them contrary to the Bible. According to Grudem, the Bible teaches that God values men and women equally. However, their roles in home and church are complementary to each other, not interchangeable. Arguing against both feminism on the left and male chauvinism on the right, his carefully researched handbook is a valuable resource defending the complementarian viewpoint.

As the church is called upon to meet the unique needs of the emerging post-modern culture, the pressure to create bottom line results has led many ministries to sacrifice the centrality of biblical preaching on the altar of human pragmatism. Many churches today have traded the pulpit for a stage--a venue for church-growth techniques and vaudeville-like pageantries. The result is a malnourished community starved for truth. Spiritual famine has hit the land. Steve Lawson calls God’s people back to a passionate commitment to proclaim the Word of God. The peril is too great to ignore.
Steven Lawson understands how important it is to feed God’s people from His Word. He’s concerned that what started as a genuine attempt to attract a broader hearing by moving away from Scripture, has grown into a crisis in the church. He is convinced that we must return to expository preaching, ’’the man of God opening the Word of God and expounding its truths so that the voice of God may be heard, the glory of God seen, and the will of God obeyed.’’ Lawson calls the church back to Scripture...to restore its commitment to let God’s own words speak.

This fascinating study explores the question as to the existence of an unseen world comprised of beings different from and higher than the human race. As we turn to the Bible, the infallible Word and Revelation of God, we find the question fully answered. In revealing and carrying out His great program for the ages, God has given two particular angels, Gabriel and Michael, significant roles. Gabriel delivered messages from God to Daniel, Zacharias, and Mary. Michael the Archangel, ’’the Prince of the people of Israel,’’ continues to interceded on their behalf. In this expository study, author A C Gaebelein traces the messages and actions of these great servants of the Most High as they participate in working out God’s plan for the world. Our response should be one of gratitude and reverence for all that the Lord has created and all that He has and will accomplish.

For those who wish to do additional research, each chapter is appended with a bibliography of recent, relevant scholarship.
The first edition has sold over sixty thousand copies.
Author Information: Victor P. Hamilton (Ph.D., Brandeis University) is professor of Bible and theology at Asbury College, where he has taught for over thirty years. He is the author of a two-volume commentary on Genesis and the Handbook on the Historical Books.

A Treatise on Christian Assurance
The subject of assurance is one of the most important elements in Christian experience. There is no higher privilege than to be a child of God and to know it, for assurance brings joy to worship and prayer and provides strength and boldness to our witness. Correspondingly, failure and weakness in all these areas can often be traced back to a lack of assurance, or even false assurance. This work of Thomas Brooks, first published in 1654, deals with all of these aspects of assurance in a way that is both biblical and pastoral. ’Brooks scatters stars with both his hands’ wrote C H Spurgeon. His teaching is clear, thorough and greatly needed in the present spiritual climate. Brooks both explains what true assurance is and guides the reader in how it may be fully experienced.

“While touching on many aspects of counseling, this book . . . is specifically designed to elucidate the process of counseling. I have often mentioned and illustrated that process, but not in the focused and systemic way that the four-step biblical process is set forth here. . . . This book presents a fresh perspective not only on how to counsel, but also on what measures to take at what stages of counseling.”—Jay Adams, from the prefaceChange is the essential goal of the counseling process. And, in the author’s words, “substantial change requires the alteration of the heart.” How can a Christian counselor facilitate such change? The answer, of course, may be found in Scripture, specifically in 2 Timothy 3:14–17.Jay Adams is a well-known counselor who bases his whole approach on Scripture. This book provides an unparalleled opportunity to see how he discovers and applies biblical priniciples as well as the way in which Scripture functions as the basis for his counseling approach. This book answers two questions: “How does a counselor help people change?” and, “How does Scripture provide the source of a counselor’s method?”How to Help People Change has much to say about the ongoing discussion of the relationship between theology and psychology in the enterprise of Christian counseling.

From interaction with their peers to the instruction and correction that they receive at home, children interpret their experience from a worldview that seeks to answer their fundamental questions: Who am I? What do I exist for? Where can I find joy? We need to provide our children with a consistent, persuasive, biblical framework for understanding the world God has made and their place in it.
Instrucing a Child’s Heart is essential to Shepherding a Child’s Heart. The instruction that you provide for them not only informs their mind: it is directed to persuading their hearts of the wisdom and truthfulness of God’s ways. Impress truth on the hearts of your children, not to control or manage them, but to point them to the greatest joy and happiness that they can experience--delighting in God and the goodness of His ways.

Joshua had at least three purposes for writing about Israel’s conquest of the Promised Land:
To document God’s faithfulness in fulfilling His covenant to give the Land to Canaan to His people To encourage the Israelities to obey God by completing the conquest after his death To vividly demonstrate God’s holy and righteous character
From our perspective as New Testament believers, the book of Joshua provides insights into obtaining and enjoying our spiritual inheritance in Christ. Just as the conquering Israelities needed excellent leadership, careful preparation, strict obedience, and focused commitment, so Christians also need thse qualities today. Like the Israelities, we face spiritual battles that may be either won or lost. By following Christ, our Leader, we will both please God and know the contentment, peace, and joy that God has for us.
In his orderly and instructive style, Ken Fleming has blended Joshua’s account of this remarkable period in Israel’s history with practical challenges, encouragements, and warnings needed for us today.
